About Ardhagiri Anjaneya Temple
A Hanuman temple on a hillock near Aragonda village, 20 km from Chittoor, where a piece of the Sanjeevani mountain is believed to have fallen when Hanuman carried it to Lanka. Water from the Sanjeevaraya pond beside the temple is taken home as medicine. The temple is busiest on full moon (Pournami) nights, when thousands climb the steps for a midnight darshan; on other days it is a quiet hour long stop.
