About Jalalgarh Fort
A ruined 18th-century fort about 20 km north of Purnia, built by Saif Khan, the Mughal faujdar of Purnia, to watch the frontier towards Nepal and the Morang. The tall brick walls and gateway still stand in a field; the inside is grass and cattle. It takes twenty minutes and is the only real fort in Seemanchal.
