About Jaimangla Garh
A Shakti temple to Jaimangla Devi on a large ancient mound at the edge of Kabar Taal, the garh of the name being the fort or settlement the mound is thought to contain. Pala-period sculpture has come out of it and old brickwork shows in places. Navratri is the busy time; on a winter morning it pairs with the lake, and the view from the mound over the water is the best there is.
