About Huligemma Temple, Huligi
Huligemma Temple at Huligi, on the bank of the Tungabhadra near Munirabad, is a major shakti shrine for people of Koppal, Ballari and Raichur districts. The goddess is a form of Durga, and Tuesdays, Fridays and full moon days draw long queues. The annual jatra on the full moon of Margashira, usually in December, and the Bharata Hunnime fair around February are the busiest times. Pilgrims also bathe in the river below the temple. Huligi is about 20 km from Hospet and 30 km from Koppal.
