About Hathwa Raj Palace
The Hathwa Raj was one of the big zamindaris of Saran, with its earlier seat at Hussepur and its later palaces at Hathwa. The buildings are still in the family and are not open, but the palace facades, gateways and the estate temple are visible from the road and give the measure of what these estates were before 1950. The Thawe legend is bound up with this family.
