About Gambhirgad
Gambhirgad takes a long approach through tribal hamlets and forest before a steep final pull. Very little of the fort survives, but the sense of remoteness this close to Mumbai is unusual, and the Warli villages on the way are a large part of the day.
What to see and do
- Warli tribal villages en route
- Long, remote forest approach
- Jawhar plateau views
- Almost never visited
Part of Sahyadri (Western Ghats).
