About BR Hills
A forested range where the Western and Eastern Ghats meet, protected as the Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple Tiger Reserve and home to the Soliga tribe. The white cliffed Ranganathaswamy temple at the summit gives the hills their name, and the Soliga chariot festival in April is the main gathering of the year. Jungle Lodges runs safaris from its K. Gudi camp, with elephant, gaur and sloth bear common. The hills are about 90 km from Mysuru via Yelandur.
