About Arasavalli Sun Temple
One of the few Sun temples in India where daily worship still goes on. Tradition dates it to the 7th century under the Kalinga ruler Devendra Varma. The temple is laid out so that the first rays of the sun touch the feet of the idol on a few days each year around March and September. It sits about 1 km from Srikakulam town and is busiest at Ratha Saptami in January or February.
