About Ainavilli Vinayaka Temple
The Siddhi Vinayaka temple at Ainavilli, 12 km from Amalapuram, is the best known Ganesha shrine in coastal Andhra. Local tradition holds that Vyasa worshipped here before beginning the Mahabharata, and people come to start new ventures with a puja. Vinayaka Chavithi in August or September brings the biggest crowds and a long queue. The temple sits in deep coconut country and combines well with Appanapalli and Amalapuram on a day loop.
