About Yingkiong and the Siang gorge road
The headquarters of Upper Siang, a small town high above the Siang, roughly 180 km and a full day from Pasighat on a road that follows the gorge, crosses side streams and slips in the rains. It is the last place with a bank and a fuel pump before Tuting. The gorge drive itself, with the river far below and the Adi villages perched on the slopes, is the reason people come.
