About Gelling
The last Indian village on the Siang, 35 km beyond Tuting on a rough track, with the McMahon Line and the Kepang La pass a few kilometres further. Memba houses, a small gompa, the army, and the river coming in from Tibet. You need the district permit and the army will ask questions. There is nowhere to stay; go up and back from Tuting in a day.
