About Wakka
A big Wancho village on a ridge south of Longding with a view over the ranges into Myanmar, known for its log drums, hollowed tree trunks beaten at festivals and once to raise the alarm, and for the carved wooden figures in the paang, the bachelors hall. The village is used to the odd visitor but is not set up for them; go with someone from Longding and ask before photographing people.
