About Tuipui and Tuichang valleys
East of Hnahthial the land falls away into the valleys of the Tuipui and the Tuichang, which run south towards the Chhimtuipui. They are deep, hot and thinly settled, with jhum fields on the slopes and a few villages by the water. The point is the drive down and the contrast with the ridge towns; there is nothing built to see.
What to see and do
- The descent from the ridge to the river
- Jhum fields on the valley sides
- Riverside villages
- Rivers in full flow after the rains
Part of Patkai, Naga and Mizo Hills.
