About Tijara Jain Temple
A Digambar Jain pilgrimage centre built around an image of Chandraprabhu, the eighth Tirthankara, dug up on the Dehra mound at Tijara in 1956. The temple complex that grew around the find is large and well run, with dharamshalas, and draws pilgrims from Delhi and Haryana at weekends. The town otherwise has little for visitors.
What to see and do
- The excavated Chandraprabhu image
- The main temple on the Dehra mound
- Pilgrim dharamshalas
- Tijara Fort on the hill above the town
