About Tengapani and the Namsai plains
The Tengapani river runs down from the Patkai hills through the Namsai plains, past the Golden Pagoda and the Khamti and Singpho villages, and out to the Brahmaputra. The plains here are flat tea and paddy country, more like upper Assam than the rest of Arunachal, with Buddhist viharas in most villages and, in the villages up towards the hills, the Singpho tea tradition. Drive it slowly with a stop at a village vihara.
