About Tehri Lake and Dam
A large reservoir on the Bhagirathi behind the Tehri Dam, one of the tallest dams in India. The old town of Tehri lies under the water, and the new town is built on the hills above. Boats, jet skis and banana rides run from the Koti Colony and Tehri lake front, and there are resorts and camps along the shore. The lake is good in clear weather and cold in winter.
