About Sundarbans National Park

The largest mangrove forest in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a maze of tidal creeks and islands in the delta of the Ganga and the Brahmaputra, and the home of the Royal Bengal tiger. Visits are by boat, usually two to three days from Kolkata, with permits, and a guide. Tigers are seen rarely, but crocodiles, deer, birds and the mangroves make it worth it. The best months are November to February. Avoid the monsoon and the cyclone season.
