About Sivasagar Tank and Sivadol
A large tank dug in the eighteenth century by Ahom queen Madambika, with three temples on its bank, the Sivadol, Vishnudol and Devidol. The Sivadol is one of the tallest Shiva temples in India, at about 104 feet, with a gold topped dome. Maha Shivratri brings a big crowd in the town. The tank is in the middle of Sivasagar, so it is easy to combine with the Rang Ghar and Talatal Ghar.
