About Shaheed Udyan
Shahjahanpur gave the Kakori conspiracy three of its four men hanged on 19 December 1927: Ram Prasad Bismil, Ashfaqulla Khan and Roshan Singh. The memorial park holds their statues and a small museum, and the anniversary each December is a real civic event. Bismil was born in Khirni Bagh a short way off, and Ashfaqulla's grave is in the town.
