About Sandi Bird Sanctuary
A shallow floodplain lake called Dahar Jheel, about 3 sq km, protected as a sanctuary since 1990 and listed as a Ramsar site in 2019. Winter brings greylag and bar-headed geese, teal, pintail and pochard; sarus cranes are here all year. Facilities are basic. About 20 km southwest of Hardoi.
