About Rayachoti Veerabhadra Temple
An old Veerabhadra Swamy temple in the middle of Rayachoti, the headquarters of the new Annamayya district, believed to date to the Chola period with later Vijayanagara additions. The deity is worshipped in the fierce Veerabhadra form and the temple sees heavy crowds at Shivaratri and during its annual Brahmotsavam. Rayachoti sits between Kadapa (75 km) and Madanapalle and is the road link to Horsley Hills and Tirupati from the west.
