About Rahila Sagar Sun Temple
A ruined 9th century Sun temple of granite on the bank of Rahila Sagar, 3 km from Mahoba, built under Rahila, the Chandela chief who gave the tank its name. The sanctum is roofless and the mandapa pillars stand open to the sky, which is exactly the appeal. Go late afternoon when the granite goes gold.
