About Gorakhgiri
A granite hill above Madan Sagar, named for Gorakhnath, who is said to have meditated in the cave near the top. The Chandelas cut steps, tanks and figures into the rock, and Alha and Udal legend hangs on every boulder. It is a short, steep climb of about 40 minutes with big views over the lakes; carry water, there is nothing on the hill.
