About Pura Mahadev
A Shiva temple on the Hindon near Balaini, tied by legend to Parshuram and hence also called Parshurameshwar. It is the destination of one of the biggest Kanwar traffic flows in western UP: at Shivratri in Phalgun and again in Shravan, lakhs of pilgrims walk here from Haridwar with Ganga water. Outside those days it is a quiet riverside shrine.
