About Prithvinath Temple, Khargupur
A Shiva temple built around a shivling about 1.65 m tall above the ground, claimed as the tallest in Asia. Tradition says Bhima installed it after killing the demon Bakasura, and that it was dug up in the 19th century when a local landholder was building. Shivratri and Shravan bring the crowds. About 30 km north of Gonda.
