About Prabhas Giri
A rocky hill on the Yamuna 12 km beyond Kosam, sacred to Jains as the birthplace of the sixth Tirthankara Padmaprabha and the site of his first sermon. Rock-cut shelters with early Brahmi inscriptions and a Digambar temple on top share the hill. The climb is short and the view over the river is the best in the district; carry water.
