About Pathargarh Fort
A large stone fort a couple of kilometres outside Najibabad, built around 1755 by Najib-ud-Daula, the Rohilla chief who was for a time master of Delhi and founded the town. Locally it is Sultana Daku ka Qila, after the bandit who used it as a hideout in the 1920s. The walls and gateways stand; the inside is fields and a few ruins.
