About Pampore Saffron Fields
The saffron fields of Pampore, the heart of the saffron growing region of Kashmir. The purple crocus flowers bloom for only two to three weeks, usually in late October and November, and are picked by hand before dawn. Visiting in bloom is a memorable experience. Outside the season the fields look dry, but the shops sell saffron.
