About Ontimitta Kodandarama Temple
A 16th century Vijayanagara temple 25 km east of Kadapa, unusual in that Rama, Sita and Lakshmana are carved from a single stone and Hanuman is absent from the sanctum. Its three tall gopurams and the pillared hall with Ramayana carvings are protected by the ASI. Since 2015 the state government has held its official Sri Rama Navami celebrations here, with the Kalyanotsavam (celestial wedding) drawing huge crowds on that night.
