About Nookambika Temple
The Sri Nookambika Ammavari temple on a hillock in Anakapalli town, about 35 km from Visakhapatnam, is one of the busiest Shakti shrines in north coastal Andhra. Devotees climb the steps to the hilltop shrine, and the Dasara Navaratri days in September or October bring the biggest crowds. Anakapalli is also known for one of the largest jaggery markets in India, a short walk from the temple.
