About Neel Bagh Palace, Balrampur
The seat of the Balrampur raj, once the largest taluqdari estate in Awadh, whose Maharaja Digvijay Singh funded the Balrampur Hospital in Lucknow. Neel Bagh is still a private residence, so you see the gates, the grounds and the colonial-era buildings the raj scattered through the town rather than the inside. Balrampur itself is the base for Shravasti and Devipatan.
