The old capital of the Sirmaur princely state, on a ridge, with a small palace, a Rani Tal pond, a historic foundry and a quiet old bazaar. The Sirmaur Palace and a Victorian clock tower are good stops, and the town is little visited. It is a calm base for Renuka and Paonta.
