About Malinithan
The ruins of an 11th or 12th century stone temple on a low hill at Likabali, right on the edge of the Assam plains, dug out by the state research department from the late 1960s. The carved granite sculptures, Durga, Indra on his elephant, Surya, a Nandi and figures in the round, are far finer than anything else surviving in Arunachal, and the legend ties the place to Krishna and Rukmini. There is a small site museum.
