About Lachen
A small Lachenpa village at about 2,750 metres on the Teesta, 130 km from Gangtok, and the base for the trip to Gurudongmar Lake and Thangu and Chopta valleys. The valleys above it are green in summer. You need a North Sikkim permit from your operator, and the road can be closed by landslides in the monsoon.
