About Kurupam
A former zamindari town in the far north of the district, about 40 km from Parvathipuram and close to the Odisha border. The old Kurupam palace of the Rajas still stands in the town, and the country around it is home to Jatapu and Savara tribal villages whose weekly markets are worth timing a visit for. Roads from here climb into the hills toward Gunupur in Odisha.
