About Kurudumale Ganesha Temple

A village 10 km from Mulbagal with a 4 m monolithic Ganesha said to have been worshipped by the Vijayanagara kings before battle. Next to it is the older Someshwara temple with carved Hoysala pillars, and a stone slab marks the spot from which the sculptor Jakanachari is said to have worked. Ganesha Chaturthi draws big crowds. Mulbagal is on the Bengaluru to Chennai highway, 100 km from the city.
