About Khurja Pottery Town
The ceramics town of north India, with hundreds of kilns turning out glazed crockery, tiles and the blue-painted pottery that carries a GI tag. Potters trace the craft to families who arrived with Timur. The kiln yards on the town edges sell direct and will show you the painting. It is also famous for khurchan, a thickened milk sweet.
