About Kargil War Memorial, Drass
The memorial to the soldiers who died in the Kargil War of 1999, at the foot of Tololing and Tiger Hill, run by the Indian Army. It has a museum, a wall of names, a hall of fame and a small cafe. Every year, Kargil Vijay Diwas on 26 July is marked here with a ceremony. The memorial is a moving place to stop on the Leh highway.
