About Kairana
A market town on the Yamuna that gave its name to the Kirana gharana of Hindustani classical music, the lineage of Abdul Karim Khan, Bhimsen Joshi and Gangubai Hangal. There is little to see beyond the old town and the river, but for a music lover it is a place of pilgrimage.
