About Har Ki Pauri
The main ghat on the Ganga at Haridwar, where the river leaves the hills and meets the plains. The evening Ganga Aarti at dusk, with floating lamps and bells, is what most people come for, and it is crowded, so reach early for a good spot on the steps. The ghat is also the main bathing point during the Kumbh and Ardh Kumbh, and on Kartik Purnima. The water is cold and the current strong, so hold the chains.
