About Girihinda Hill Temple
The granite hill on the edge of Sheikhpura town, with a temple on top reached by a long flight of steps, is the landmark of this small district and where the town goes on a holiday. Rama and Sita are said to have rested here on their way to Mithila, and the hilltop shrine is theirs and Hanuman. The climb is short and the view over the flat country is the best you will get in Sheikhpura. Ram Navami brings a fair.
