About Dzukou Valley
A high valley at about 2,438 metres on the border of Nagaland and Manipur, reached by a trek of about 3 to 4 hours from Viswema near Kohima. The valley is green with the rare Dzukou lily and many wild flowers in June to September, and the grass turns golden and frosty in winter. There are basic huts and campsites, but no shops, so carry food, a warm layer and a rain cover. Fires have burned the valley in dry winters, so follow the local rules and never light a fire in the grass.
