About Chittaura Jheel and Suheldev Memorial
A lake on the eastern edge of Bahraich where tradition places the battle of 1034 in which Suheldev, the raja of Shravasti, defeated Salar Masud. A memorial to Suheldev with a statue and landscaped grounds has gone up on the bank in recent years. The lake itself gets winter waterfowl and is a pleasant evening walk.
