Bhadohi and Gopiganj make more hand-knotted carpets than anywhere else in India, and the trade has a GI tag. There is nothing to see in the towns themselves; the reason to come is the workshops, where exporters will walk you through the looms, the washing yards and the finishing floors if you ask ahead. Buy direct and the prices are a fraction of Delhi.
