A fairytale chateau in red sandstone built in the 1890s for Raja Amar Singh by a French architect, on a bluff over the Tawi. It is now a museum and library holding Pahari miniature paintings, royal portraits and the solid gold throne of Maharaja Hari Singh. The terraced lawns make a quiet place for tea. Timings change, so check before you go.
