Terms of Use
Last updated 28 October 2026
Jagah Pedia is a free, personal travel guide. These terms explain how to use it, what it can and cannot promise, and what is expected from you and from me. Please read the part about planning and safety especially.
The short version
- Use the site for your own trip planning. It is free, and it is information only. It does not sell tours or take bookings.
- "Open today" and "best time" are estimates built from usual seasons and past closure patterns. They are not live. Always confirm with the local authority before you travel.
- Treks, forts, waterfalls, caves and high passes carry real risk. You are responsible for your own safety and for following local rules and permits.
- I work hard to keep things correct, but mistakes happen. Tell me and I will fix them.
- Photos belong to their photographers. The site's writing, design and data belong to me. Please do not copy them in bulk.
1. About these terms
Jagah Pedia is run by Santosh Pandey, an individual based in Pune, Maharashtra, India ("I", "me", "us"). By using the website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These terms should be read with the Privacy Policy.
2. What Jagah Pedia is
Jagah Pedia is a free guide to forts, treks, temples, waterfalls, wildlife areas, festivals and other places across India. It helps you decide where to go and when. It is not a travel agency, tour operator, booking platform or official tourism body, and nothing on it is an offer to sell any service. I do not arrange trips, transport, stays, guides or permits.
3. Treat the information as a guide
Much of what the site shows depends on the date you pick: whether a place is open, whether it is at its best, what the weather is usually like, which festivals are on. Please understand how this works.
- Open, closed and best time are worked out from typical seasons, past patterns and rules such as weekly closing days. They are estimates. They are not live information and not an official notice.
- Closures for monsoon, snow, forest and wildlife rules, landslides, road works, events or security reasons are decided by district collectors, Forest Departments, the Archaeological Survey of India, state tourism boards and local bodies. They can change at short notice, and can differ from what the site shows.
- Weather shown is the usual climate for the place and time of year, not a forecast. For a forecast, check the India Meteorological Department or a trusted weather service close to your date.
- Festival and panchang dates follow lunar calendars that can differ between regions and almanacs, so a date can vary by a day or more. Confirm with the local temple, committee or organiser.
- Permits, entry fees, timings and rules (for example Inner Line Permits, Protected Area Permits, forest entry passes, trek registrations, photography and drone rules) change often. Check the current rule with the official source or a licensed local operator before you go.
- Distances, travel times and difficulty ratings are indicative. Your own fitness, the season, the weather and the state of the route decide what a trip is really like.
4. Your safety and your responsibility
Many of the places listed are remote or physically demanding. Trekking, climbing forts, walking near waterfalls, entering caves, visiting high passes and travelling in the monsoon or in snow can cause injury, illness or death.
- You are responsible for deciding whether a place and a route suit you, your group and the conditions on the day.
- Do not rely on this site alone for navigation, safety or emergency decisions. Go with a guide or an experienced group where the place needs one, tell someone your plan, and carry what you need.
- Know the signs of altitude sickness before going high, and turn back when the weather, the light or your body says so.
- Respect protected areas, wildlife, temple and village customs, local people and the rules at each place. Do not litter, and do not go where entry is not allowed.
By using the site you accept that you go to these places at your own risk.
5. Accuracy and corrections
Place details are compiled by hand from my own visits, public sources and reports from others. I try to keep them correct and up to date, but I cannot promise that every name, coordinate, timing, fact or description is complete or current. Some details, especially for newer listings, may still be waiting to be checked.
If you spot a mistake, or you know something has changed, please tell me at travelwala.chora@gmail.com and I will correct it as soon as I can.
6. Photos and third party material
- Photographs come from Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons and Unsplash photographers, and are used under their respective licences. Credits are shown on the pages where they appear. Those licences, not these terms, decide what you may do with each photograph.
- Names, logos and trademarks mentioned on the site belong to their owners. Mentioning a place, business or organisation does not mean it endorses Jagah Pedia or that I endorse it.
- If you own something shown here and want it credited differently or removed, write to me with the details and I will deal with it promptly.
7. Our content and how you may use it
The site's design, code, written text, the way places are grouped and described, the ranges, sets and trip ideas, and the arrangement of data are my work and are protected by copyright, except for third party material described above. All rights are reserved.

8. If you suggest or send something
You can suggest places or send details using the forms on the site, which open WhatsApp or email. When you do:
- You confirm that what you send is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that you have the right to share it.
- Send photographs only if you took them or have the owner's permission.

This includes closed gates, cancelled plans, changed rules, bad weather and road conditions.
