About Rewalsar Lake

A holy lake for Hindus, Sikhs and Buddhists, surrounded by hills, with floating reed islands that are said to move with the wind. Padmasambhava is said to have left from here to Tibet, and a gurudwara, a Hindu temple and a Tibetan monastery stand around the lake. A huge statue of Padmasambhava stands on the hill above.
