About Neermahal
A palace in the middle of the Rudrasagar lake at Melaghar, about 55 km from Agartala, built in the 1930s by Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya as a summer palace. It mixes Hindu and Mughal styles, with domes, turrets and balconies reflected in the water. Boats take you across from the Melaghar ghat, and sunset is the best time. Winter brings migratory birds to the lake.
