About Nameri National Park

A tiger reserve in the foothills of the Himalaya near Arunachal, along the Jia Bhoroli river, about 35 km from Tezpur. Birdwatchers come for hornbills and the rare white winged wood duck, and the park is one of the few where you can trek on foot with a guide. Rafting on the river in the cool months is an easy highlight. The park is open from about November to April, and the eco camp near the gate is a good base.
