About Musanagar
An old town on the Yamuna in Bhognipur tehsil, named in local telling after the demon Mushakasur whom the goddess killed here. The Muktadevi temple on the bank is the draw, with a Kartik Purnima fair and a bathing crowd. The ancient mound the town sits on has produced old bricks and coins. The Yamuna bank is high and crumbling; stay on the ghat.
